QUARTZ FLAKE™ Series
The QUARTZ FLAKE™ series starts with two core designs: OG and ES.
OG is the original flat-base model. It gives more flat-surface contact with the hot floor, which supports strong heat transfer and vapor production. The tradeoff is friction: more flat contact usually means less spin.
ES stands for Extra Spin. It adds a center pivot point, reducing friction so the insert spins more freely. The tradeoff is slightly less flat-surface contact with the hot floor.
SE stands for Surface Enhanced. SE is not a separate shape — it is an added surface treatment that can be applied to either OG or ES. The enhancement adds texture to the top and bottom planes, increasing heated surface area for stronger vapor performance.
So the lineup breaks down like this:
OG = flat base / strong vapor / low spin
OG SE = flat base + surface enhancement / maximum vapor / low spin
ES = pivot point / more spin / slightly less floor contact
ES SE = pivot point + surface enhancement / more spin + upgraded vapor
At the end of the day, it comes down to what the user values more: maximum flat-contact vapor production, increased spin, or a balance of both.
